WORLD BUILDING

In developing the settings for my series, I focus on creating worlds that are not just backgrounds for the artwork itself, but places rich with story and detail

In the Ethereal Encounters series, I designed the world of Nereidos, imagining an ancient society

This involved constructing a detailed realm that not only featured cities inspired by the Zodiac, but also included hidden references like coordinates pointing to Atlantis, adding layers of depth and interest

I drew inspiration unique to each zodiac sign when creating the mermaid subjects, using associated color palettes, crystals, and elements to influence their overall aesthetic

While building the world of Greatstock, my approach evolved to integrate specific references from my inspirations, such as the cultural backdrop of Woodstock 1969 and the grandeur of The Great Gatsby

This series is built on thorough research, incorporating everything from character names to locations that reflect the essence of these influences

For instance, "Bethel Estate and Gardens" pays homage to the site of Woodstock, while "Port Fitzgerald" nods to F. Scott Fitzgerald

Such details are aimed at grounding the series in a reality that, while fictional, feels tangible and meticulously thought out

In building these worlds, my aim is to create settings that viewers can get lost in, imagining themselves within.

From the naming of musical acts to the design of each setting, my work is about more than just visual appeal; it's about constructing immersive environments that invite exploration and discovery
